മസ്കറ്റ്: ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദം പതുക്കെ മങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്ക് ഉയർത്തിയ ഒരു മനുഷ്യസ്നേഹ ഇടപെടലായി മാറി റൂവി മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ (RMA)യുടെ പ്രവർത്തനം. റൂവിയിലെ ഒരു റെസ്റ്റോറന്റിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തുവരുന്ന പ്രവാസി മലയാളി യുവാവിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് വീണ്ടും പ്രതീക്ഷ തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന സംഭവമാണിത്.
കേൾവി ശേഷി ദിവസേന കുറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഈ യുവാവ്, ശബ്ദങ്ങൾ മങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു ലോകത്തേക്കായിരുന്നു പതുക്കെ നീങ്ങിയിരുന്നത്. ഡോക്ടർമാർ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിൽ, ചെവിക്കുള്ളിലെ ഞരമ്പുകൾ ദുർബലമാകുകയും കേൾവി പൂർണ്ണമായി നഷ്ടപ്പെടാനുള്ള അപകടാവസ്ഥയിലാണെന്നും കണ്ടെത്തി. ഇനി വൈകാതെ hearing aid ഉപയോഗിക്കണമെന്ന് അവർ നിർദ്ദേശിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ഏകദേശം 800 റിയാൽ ചെലവാകുന്ന ഈ ഉപകരണം സ്വന്തമാക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥിതി അനുവദിച്ചില്ല.
ഒരിക്കൽ റെസ്റ്റോറന്റിൽ മാനേജറായി ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം, ഇന്ന് കേൾവി പ്രശ്നത്തിന്റെ കാരണത്താൽ സഹപ്രവർത്തകരുമായി സംസാരിക്കാനും ഇടപെടാനും കഴിയാതെ വെയ്റ്ററായി മാറേണ്ടി വന്നത് ജീവിതത്തിലെ വലിയ മാനസിക ആഘാതമായി. നാട്ടിൽ ഭാര്യയും രണ്ട് പെൺമക്കളുമുള്ള കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഏക ആശ്രയമായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്, ഈ അവസ്ഥ ഒരു കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ പോലും മങ്ങുന്ന സാഹചര്യമാക്കി.
ഈ വേദനയറിയുന്ന നിമിഷത്തിൽ, വിഷയം ശ്രദ്ധയിൽപ്പെട്ടതോടെ റൂവി മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ അടിയന്തരമായി ഇടപെട്ട് സഹായ സമാഹരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന്, റൂവി മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ സമാഹരിച്ച ഫണ്ടിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ, ഗുണനിലവാരമുള്ള ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ഹിയറിംഗ് എയ്ഡ് വാങ്ങി യുവാവിന് കൈമാറുകയും ചെയ്തു. കൂടാതെ 800 റിയാൽ വിലയുള്ള ഉപകരണം, പരമാവധി ശ്രമങ്ങളിലൂടെ 550 റിയാലിൽ ലഭ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
റൂവി മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ ഏറ്റെടുത്ത ഈ ദൗത്യം വിജയകരമായി പൂർത്തിയായത്, പ്രവാസി സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ഐക്യവും മനുഷ്യസ്നേഹവും എത്ര ശക്തമാണെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കുന്ന ഉദാഹരണമായി മാറി. ഈ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിന് കൈത്താങ്ങായി നിന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും സംഘടന ഹൃദയം നിറഞ്ഞ നന്ദി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി. RMA അംഗങ്ങൾ, RMA Connect അംഗങ്ങൾ, എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് അംഗങ്ങൾ, ഡോ. സജി ഉതുപ്പാൻ, ഡോ. മുജീബ് അഹമ്മദ് എന്നിവരും പിന്തുണയേകി.
യുവാവിനെ ശബ്ദത്തിന്റെ ലോകത്തേക്ക് തിരികെ എത്തിക്കാൻ സമൂഹം ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി നിന്നത് സന്തോഷവും അഭിമാനവുമാണെന്ന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഫൈസൽ ആലുവ പറഞ്ഞു.

Muscat: The Ruwi Malayali Association (RMA) once again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian service through a compassionate intervention that brought hope back to a young Malayali expat whose world of sound was gradually fading.
The young man, who works at a restaurant in Ruwi, had been losing his hearing day by day. A medical examination revealed that the nerves in his inner ear were weakening and he was at risk of complete hearing loss. Doctors advised him to start using a hearing aid as soon as possible — but the device, priced at approximately OMR 800, was beyond his financial reach.
Once a confident restaurant manager, the worsening condition forced him to step down to a waiter's role because he could no longer communicate clearly with his colleagues. With a wife and two daughters back home depending entirely on his income, the situation threatened to extinguish the dreams of an entire family.
When the matter came to the attention of RMA, the association acted swiftly and launched a fundraising effort. Using the funds raised, RMA purchased the latest high-quality hearing aid and handed it over to the young man. Through sustained negotiations, the device — originally priced at OMR 800 — was secured for OMR 550.
The successful completion of this mission stands as a powerful example of the unity and humanitarian spirit of Oman's Malayali community. RMA extended its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the cause — RMA members, RMA Connect members, executive committee members, Dr. Saji Uthuppan, and Dr. Mujeeb Ahmed.
RMA President Faizal Aluva said it was a moment of great joy and pride to see the community stand together to bring this young man back into the world of sound.
